Umakant Chaudhary is a central member of the Nepali Congress. He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives, 2056 BS from Bara-1, Constituent Assembly, 2064 BS from Bara-5 and the Federal House of Representatives, 2074 BS from Bara-1. Chaudhary has served as the Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, 2059 BS, Minister of Health and Population, 2064 BS and the Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, 2079 BS.
