Kushiyeta, who is Sunsari district In-charge of CPN-UML, started his political journey through student politics in 2034 BS. He received the party's membership in 2039 BS. He was elected central committee member through the ninth and tenth general conventions of the party. He served for different ministerial portfolios for three years and five months.
