Sharma is a member of the Gandaki Province Committee of CPN (UML). She is treasurer of Radio Galkot; president of Community Police, Galkot; president of Mahila Jagran Kendra (Women Skill Centre), Hatia; and independent candidate for the mayor post of Galkot in the last local elections. She is a former Nepali Congress.
