Baskota is the politburo committee member of the CPN-UML since 2078BS. He was earlier elected as House of Representatives member from Kavre-2 in the 2017 general elections. Baskota was appointed State Minister for Information Technology and Communications. Later on he helmed the ministry’s top position before resigning from the post in Flagun 8, 2076.
