Upendra Yadav is the current chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party. He had previously served as the Deputy Prime Minister for Health and Population, 2074 BS, Deputy Prime Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, 2076 BS and had also served two terms as the Foreign Minister, 2065 BS and 2067 BS. Yadav has been elected to the Constituent Assembly, twice, in 2064 BS and 2070 BS, from Sunsari-5 and to the House of Representatives, once, in 2074 BS, from Sunsari-2.
