Gauri Shankhar Chaudhary is a member of the central committee of the CPN - UML. He was elected as member of the second Constituent Assembly from Kailali. He was also elected as a member of the House of Representatives in 2074 BS. Chaudhary served as the Minister of Agriculture in 2073 BS and Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security in 2077 BS.
